Step
One…See It
Principle
#1: You have to see where
you’re coming from before you can get where
you want to go.
Vision
is where everything starts, but it’s not enough
to simply create a picture of your desired outcome.
We start by creating a clear and honest picture of
where you are right now. This, then gives you a benchmark
with which to measure your progress. It is your “come
from”, your starting point and you will use
it as a way to propel yourself forward to creating
and achieving your new vision.
When
working with clients, I always have them ponder these
quotes and others before we move onto the exercises
in this step.
|
"Where
there is no vision, the people perish."
- Proverbs 29:18
"
If you can dream it, you can do it."
-
Walt Disney
"
There is a law in psychology that if you form a
picture in your mind of what you would like to be,
and you keep and hold that picture there long enough,
you will soon become exactly as you have been thinking."
-
William James
“
The mind is everything;
what you think you become.”
-
Buddha
“
Imagination is the eye of the soul.”
-
Joseph Joubert

Step
Two…Say It
Principle
#2: A spoken intention is hope in action
– what you say, you will see.
The
next important step in realizing what you want is
to Say It. "In the beginning was the word"
isn't just a biblical phrase, it's the start of all
creation.
Nothing
is ever accomplished without it being spoken/verbalized.
Our
words, whether positive and negative, give us powerful
results, so why not put the power in the positive?
And, as in step one, we again start by first “saying”
where are right now, in order to solidify our “come
from”. We then move on to creating powerful
words that will pull you forward to your vision.
When
working with clients, I always have them ponder these
quotes and others before we move onto the exercises
in this step.
|
“Regardless
of what language you speak, your intent will manifest
through the word. What you dream, what you feel,
and what you really are will all be manifested through
the word."
- don Miguel Ruiz
“
Never, ever regret or apologize for believing that
when one man or one woman decides to risk addressing
the world with truth, the world may stop what it
is doing and hear. There is too much evidence to
the contrary."
-
Robert Fulghum
“
It is a well-known fact that one comes finally to
believe whatever one repeats to one’s self,
whether the statement be true or false.”
-
Napoleon Hill

Step
Three…Create It
Principle
#3: Hoping is helpful, but
it’s creating and implementing
that turns your dreams into reality.
This
step will be the crux to forwarding the action of
your first two steps. The creation element of the
process is crucial to a successful outcome to your
stated intention(s).
It’s
where everything is finally quantified, plans and
intentions are laid out and road maps are created.
We also work with powerful “Creation aids”.
Creation
aids:
Attitude
Inspiration
Incentive
Deadline
Detachment

“First
say to yourself what you would be; and then do
what you have to do.”
-
1st century A.D. freed slave and philosopher,
Epictetus
“Honor
the man or woman that you are. Take the risk to
express your dream. Taking action is about living
full and expressing what you are.”
-
Author, don Miguel Ruiz
“
The heart does not charge for consultations, conversations,
creative brainstorming sessions or carrying a
dream from conception to delivery, no matter how
long it takes. From the action stems the dream
again and this interdependence produces the highest
form of living.”
-
Author, Sarah Ban Breathnach

Step
Four…Believe It
Principle
#4: You can’t
get what you deserve, until you “get”
that you deserve.
This
is again another important step, because it's not
the old skepticism, "I'll believe it when I see
it.", which is valid. It’s the truism coined
by Ernest Holmes, who created the Science of Mind
Church, "I'll see it when I believe it".
You
will never receive anything you ask for if you first
don’t believe it is possible to do so.
However,
before we can create new beliefs, we have to look
at the limiting beliefs that have brought us to where
we are today. Then we need to address those thoughts
that inevitably arise once we decide to change the
course of our lives. You know, the voices in our head
that say: “You, you can’t do that! Who
do you think you are, anyway?”
When
working with clients, I always have them ponder these
quotes and others before we move onto the exercises
in this step.
|
“The
greatest secret to living a happy, fulfilled life
is the realization that everything is created in our
minds before it manifests itself in the outer world.
We must believe it before we can see it.”
-
Sarah Ban Breathnach
“
If you want to change an external part of your life,
then you are first required to change the internal
beliefs that hold these patterns in place. If you
want others to respond to you or your work in different
ways and with more appreciation, then examine your
expectations for your work and your efforts. When
you believe in yourself, chances are others will find
your worth also.”
-
Meredith Young-Sowers
“
Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your
life because you become what you believe.”
-
Oprah Winfrey
"
So, I tell you, whatsoever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be
yours."
- Mark 11:24

Step
Five…Receive It
Principle
#5: In order to receive something,
you have to create space for it.
The
universe always rushes into fill a void, it's the
law of nature. So, now’s the time to look at
what you need to leave behind, to make room for the
new.
Just
as when you are buying a new couch, you have to get
rid of the old one, you must create room for the new
good to come to you.
According
to Webster, “receive”, v - to take (i.e.
something given or sent): to get; to take into the
mind; to meet with: encounter; to greet: welcome”.
And, “receiver, n – one that receives;
an apparatus, as a part of a radio, television or
telephone that receives electrical signals and changes
them into perceptible forms.”.
How
can you become a human receiver of all the good you
envision and plan to receive?
"Nothing
happens until something moves."
-Albert
Einstein
Then,
before you move on to the exercises, ponder these
quotes to the right.
|
“The
key to life is to build in the mental equivalents
of what you want and to expunge the equivalents of
what you do not. You do it by thinking quietly, constantly
and persistently of the kind of things you want.”
-
Emmet Fox
“
What you desire, you will see. Such is the real law
of cause and effect as it operates in the world.”
-
A Course In Miracles
"
Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe,
it can achieve."
-
Napoleon Hill
“Before
success comes in any man’s life, he is sure
to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps,
some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest
and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly
what the majority of men do. More than five hundred
of the most successful men this country has ever known
told the author their greatest success came just one
step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken
them.”
-
Napoleon Hill
"
Nothing ever built arose to touch the skies unless
someone dreamed that it should, someone believed that
it could, and someone willed that it must."
-
Charles Kettering
“
If not now, when?"
-
The Talmud
